Chief, Technology Business Incubation Unit

Sheila C. Poonon is an Associate Professor in the Department of Agribusiness Management, College of Agriculture, Central Mindanao University. She holds a Master’s degree in Agribusiness Management. As chief of TBIU, she is responsible for leading the commercialization of the CMU generated and other available technologies. Presently, she is the project leader of the Agri-Aqua Technology Incubation (ATBI), a project funded by DOST-PCAARRD.

Chief, Intellectual Property Licensing Unit

Yuyen Tan is a registered chemist and a graduate of Master of Science in Chemistry. She is a faculty member of the Department of Chemistry of the College of Arts and Sciences.    As chief of the IPLU, she reviews patent and utility model applications and helps faculty researchers draft responses to Formality Examination Reports from IPOPHL.

Legal Officer

Atty. Ayuban is the University Legal Officer and a Certified Public Accountant. He has a master's degree in Business Administration.  He is a faculty member of the Department of Accountancy, College of Business Management.  He shall assist the IPTBM Office in the prosecution process of the IP applications.  He reviews the TLAs, MOAs, and deeds, and handles other legal matters involving the IPTBM.

Finance Officer

Miss Dynnith F. Suaberon is the Director of the Financial Management Services Office (FMSO) of Central Mindanao University.  She also serves as the Finance Officer of IPTBM. She has a Masters in Business Management from Capitol University and is currently pursuing her Doctor of Business Administration in Ateneo de Davao University. She is also a Certified Public Accountant, a Real Estate Appraiser, and a Real Estate Broker. Having her on the team ensures smooth project implementation, especially when dealing with financial matters. 

Marketing Officer, Technology Transfer Unit

Dr. Cosrojas is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Agricultural Economics, College of Agriculture, CMU. She holds a doctorate in Development, Research, and Administration. She is responsible for conducting the IP valuation of CMU-generated technologies for commercialization.

Associate Technology Licensing Officer

Dr. Verula is a registered Mechanical Engineer and a member of Asian Engineer Registry. He is a faculty member of the Mechanical Engineering Department of the College of Engineering and is presently designated as the University Mechanical Engineer. He has a Ph.D. in Agricultural Engineering. from the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB), Los Baños, Laguna. 

Dr. Verula attended several international and national Intellectual Property Rights trainings.  He is responsible for reviewing patent applications and responding to Formality Examination Reports (FER) and Substantive Examination Reports that belong to the mechanical category.

Associate Technology Licensing Officer (on Study Leave)

Mr. Baybayon is a faculty member of the Department of  Physics, College of Arts and Sciences, Central Mindanao University. He graduated with Master of Science in Physics from Mindanao State University - Iligan Institute of Technology.  He has attended several training sessions on Claim Drafting, Invention Spotting, Prior Art Search, and responding to IPOPHL Office Action. 

Associate Technology Licensing Officer

Dr. Bucayong is a faculty member of the Department of Physics, College of Arts and Sciences, Central Mindanao University. She holds a PhD in Science Education major in Physics from De La Salle University. She invented the 3D Apparatus for Vector Operations, with a patent application under substantive examination. The patent examiner recommended her technology for international patent application through the Patent Cooperation Treaty. At IPTBM, she assists the IPLU Chief in reviewing patent applications and responding to Formality Examination Reports (FER) and Substantive Examination Reports.

Office Staff

Mr. Tejada is an administrative assistant specialist with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Office Administration from Central Mindanao University. He has attended several training sessions on the basics of Patent, Utility Model, Industrial Design, Trademark, Copyright, Claim Drafting, and IP Enforcement. As office staff, he is in charge of assisting internal and external researchers with IP application and protection.

Ms. Colegado is a graduate of Central Mindanao University with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Office Administration. She is an office staff at IPTBM Office.

Utility Worker, IPTBM

Boni plays a very important role in maintaining cleanliness within and outside of the IPTBM Office Building. He does landscaping and regular trimming of the grasses around the building. 

Science Research Assistant, IPTBM Phase II

Ms. Panadero is a science research assistant for the CMU IP-TBM Phase 2 project. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Central Mindanao University. She is primarily assigned with patent mining in the swine industry and assists in conducting project deliverables as stipulated in the project work plan.
