2022 Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum Awards for CMU

Central Mindanao University (CMU) has once again made history by winning all four prestigious awards from the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL). The Awarding Ceremony for the year 2022 was held at Sequoia Hotel, Manila Bay, Parañaque, Metro Manila last March 28, 2023.

The journey of CMU toward this remarkable feat began in 2020 when it garnered its first Platinum Award, followed by Bronze, Gold, and another Platinum award in 2021. For the year 2022, with CMU-IPTBM’s remarkable and outstanding performance under the leadership of Dr. Vellorimo J. Suminguit, CMU is confident to receive the four Clustering 2.0 Awards – the Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum Awards. Platinum is the highest highly esteemed recognition given by IPOPHL to a member Innovation and Technology Support Office (ITSO) that made significant contributions to the promotion and protection of intellectual property rights in the country.

The CMU-IPTBM with the University’s support has implemented various programs and initiatives that aim to instill awareness and appreciation of intellectual property among students, faculty, staff, and other stakeholders by providing them assistance in their intellectual property protection, technology transfer, and commercialization.

The achievement of CMU in winning all four awards for the year 2022 and garnering the Platinum Award for three consecutive years is a testament to its dedication to promoting and protecting intellectual property rights. The university's efforts are expected to inspire other academic institutions and organizations to follow suit in their advocacy for intellectual property rights.
